Phase 2 of the Dublin Docklands’ International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) has been awarded one of the highest accolades in the planning profession at this year’s Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)’S AWARDS IN London. IFSC 2 was short-listed from 101 entries and received the Award for Planning for Central Areas.

Through Phase 2, the IFSC has been doubled in size, with 1,500 apartments/student residences, two million sq ft of offices, the National College of Ireland, the four star Clarion Hotel and 30 shops and restaurants.

The development includes the Clarion Quay Residential Scheme that won Best Housing Project in last year’s Irish Architecture Awards (2003) and Best Residential Development of the 2003 Irish Property Awards.

The winners were announced at the high profile awards presentation that took place at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel. Attending on behalf of the IFSC 2 project were Docklands Authority Board members Donal Curtin, Joan O’Connor and Niamh O’Sullivan, Terry Durney, former Director of Planning & Technical Services for the Docklands Authority and Master Planner for IFSC Phase 2, Tony Reddy of Anthony Reddy & Associates, Sean O’Laoire of Murray O’Laoire Architects and Martin Jones of Burke Kennedy Doyle.
