About The Awards“Oyster, one of Ireland’s leading telecommunications established these awards to recognise and reward Ireland’s outstanding receptionists who make a significant difference to the organisations they represent. Receptionists perform a dual role interacting with clients and suppliers in person and by phone whilst liaising with management. At the front line of the organisation, they are responsible not just for making that memorable first impression but also for providing invaluable support to colleagues. Throughout Ireland, receptionists are hard at work behind the scenes making critical contributions to the smooth running of business. This year, these dynamic individuals are being invited into the limelight! The judges will be looking for someone who stands out from the crowd in the course of filling their day-to-day receptionist role, demonstrating efficiency and excellence in communication skills, presentation, customer service and personal initiative. The event is aimed at all organisations, large and small and there will be a number of award categories in addition to the overall award. The judging panel will appraise all nominations and produce a short list of 20 candidates for further screening. All 20 will be invited to Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel where the winners will be announced on October 26th at a special luncheon celebration. Hand crafted trophies and cash prizes will be presented to category winners. The overall winner will receive The Oyster Receptionist of the Year Trophy together with a dream holiday for two. It’s all in a great cause too. Anthony Reddy Associates’ Head Receptionist, Wendy Tully has been short listed in the final 20 for the prestigious “Oyster Receptionist of the Year” awards. The Awards will be held in the Shelbourne Hotel and there is a plan to make a television programme surrounding the event.
