POSITION IN THE KILKENNY OFFICE

Job Title: Senior/Project Architect                                              Date:

Business Area: Technical                     

Reporting to: Team Leader

 

Function: Involvement in creating, designing and managing projects from feasibility through to completion within an architectural team and liaising with the client and fellow professionals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Effective management of assigned projects to agreed deadlines and budgets.
  • Provision of holiday cover for Team Leader.
  • Running projects on own initiative within a team structure.
  • Co-ordinate the project from pre-tender to completion.
  • Programme all stages of the project.
  • Report on current status and progress of projects.
  • Ensure that information received is consistent with project requirements in order to meet deadlines/start on site dates.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress of planning, working drawings and tender programmes.
  • Manage and motivate the project team and monitor the work of the project team members.
  • Carrying out design-stage risk assessments in accordance with H & S legislation.
  • Compile schedules of work for team to work to and action.
  • Adopt a mentoring role to less experienced team members.
  • Take responsibility for and manage the various stages of the design process expediently, economically and efficiently and deliver quality design solutions.
  • Liaise with and manage consultants, contractors and suppliers, whilst developing and maintaining strong client relations.
  • Check and control all documentation issued by project team, and co-ordinate with design team members.
  • Ensure skill base is constantly updated through CPD.
  • Ensure that all projects in which you are involved are carried out in accordance with the ARA Manual and the RIAI Good Practice Guide.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Architecture.
  • RIAI Part III or equivalent Professional qualification essential;
  • Minimum of 7 years post part III experience with solid exposure to large-scale, hi-spec projects is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Ireland/UK desirable.
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, Photoshop, Corel Draw, Sketch Up, is desirable.
  • Previous experience of on site project implementation desirable. This should be on Irish sites
  • Fluency in English as client relationship management is an integral part of the role.
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory requirements, general regulatory environment, and Irish/UK Building regulations.
  • Safe pass essential.
