Space Planning & Interior Design
Bord Gais Eireann, Foley Street, Dublin 1

This new 5-storey office building in central Dublin has provided Bord Gais Eireann with the opportunity to launch a flagship office environment that reflects their change in culture, attitudes and approach towards staff, business and customers.

The new corporate identity is achieved using both design and the latest IT to influence, not just the layouts and interiors but also how spaces are used and information is stored and presented to customers.

Embracing the concept of the office as hotel, different sizes and types of accommodation are provided which are available to staff on the basis of need rather than hierarchy.

Refreshments, in the form of a coffee bar, are available for meetings, board meetings and general staff. Sliding screens in timber and glass enable the spaces to appear open and move away from the idea of cellular offices.

All work-stations are identical and these will be utilised as either hot-desks and shared spaces or permanent work stations.

There are tea stations and meeting rooms at each of the upper floors and IT services are provided to encourage the use of remote working and lead the way towards a paperless office.

Adjacent to Connolly Station, with access to most main routes of public transport, staff are encouraged to use modes of transport other than cars, with shower/changing and toilet facilities provided at basement level where there is also provision for bicycle parking.
