Situated on the Cork Road on the outskirts of Waterford City,
this office development takes advantage of it’s sloping site.
Two office blocks step back up the site from the re-aligned road frontage
providing the necessary accommodation while maintaining a scale in sympathy
with it’s surroundings.
The landscaped site is organised in a campus style layout. The blocks,
which are both arranged round an internal courtyard making the most of
natural light and ventilation, are placed on the site so as to emphasise
the ground double and triple height entrance areas which in turn provide
a civic feel and scale appropriate to such buildings.
The facades of the building are a mannered composition of well proportioned
windows and large glazed elements organised by a hierarchical use of materials.
This includes a rustic rendered base with self coloured render above,
separated by reconstituted stone string courses while the use of projections
and steel balconies provide added relief. |
